The season introduces a wave of new characters who significantly expand the Straw Hats’ universe. Among them are agents of the shadowy Baroque Works syndicate—Mr. 3, Mr. 5, Mr. 9, and Miss Valentine—as well as Miss Wednesday (Princess Vivi), Doctor Kureha, Crocus, the giants Dorry and Brogy, and the nefarious Marine Smoker. Notably, Tony Tony Chopper, the beloved reindeer doctor, makes his live-action debut, voiced by Mikaela Hoover.
Behind the camera, Season 2 experiences a notable shift in leadership. Original showrunner Matt Owens departs, and Joe Tracz continues in his place, later joined by Ian Stokes as co-showrunner and executive producer.
